Seattle Tantra and Sensual Reiki Classes
Tantra and Sensual Reiki techniques involve the waking of the skin sense through light touch and varying temperature and textures. The skin sense is powerful organ of perception, not only to interact with the outer world, but to sense the inner world and the source of life flowing though us as well.
Wearing clothing all day, and not understanding the importance of human to human interactions through touch, this skin sense has become less attuned, habituated to the sensations and vibrations that we are actually quite attuned to.
The conceptions that many have that some animals have more highly developed senses than humans, may be quite incorrect. What may be more true is that those animals have far fewer filters than humans. We filter our experience, then our behavior through many levels of filters such as moral, societal, and religious standards. In a social context this works and as a civilized society those moral standards are important. However, in an intimate relationship, those same morals standards can prevent the freedom of expression that is important to true intimacy.
Both Tantra and Sensual Reiki involve an understanding that intimacy with others is important in the establishment of a peaceful family, community, and society, resolving conflict with compassion and creative intelligence rather that argument and fighting.
Likewise, the filters of past experience, memory itself, knowledge, as well as expectations, motivations, and intentions tend to disperse energy into the past and the future rather than focusing on the present moment.
This is what Tantra is, an understanding, an awakening, an experience of meditation and relaxation through the whole body, often ignoring the split mind or ego of the individual, bypassing that tricky false self and training the body to experience the deep understanding of true meditation.
